It's taken me four months, but here finally is the tribute for a baby boy I miss every single day. When I say it took four months, I don't mean I've been working on it that long. I mean it's taken me four months to get the emotional strength to do it.
Loki was a bottle baby I raised from a week old. Late last November, Loki passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of six. I don't want to go into what exactly happened, but I will say that it broke my heart, and I'm still learning to work through it. I miss my Loki Boy, and it feels like there's a gaping hole in my family since he passed.
I knew I wanted to make a tribute that was loving and warm, not something that would evoke a sense of depression or hopelessness. I finally landed upon a wonderful cover of Into the West, and that inspired this whole picture. It was therapeutic to work on, and I feel like it's a worthy tribute to a very special boy.
