I was planning to draw this piece on behalf of the 15th Anniversary special of Minecraft yesterday, but I had no time due to packing some stuff from my dormitory, the timing of my online class and, of course, the Amon Amarth live tour concert I went to. So now, one day later today, I’ve decided to create this, because coming from my times as a pre-teen, Minecraft used to be one of my most favorite video games, which is initially an indie sandbox game. And let me give you a short brief history on where Minecraft came from.
Officially released on May 14, 2011, started as an open world game, Minecraft was created by Markus "Notch" Persson, in the umbrella code of Javascript, a complex coding language sitting atop of HTML, CSS and PHP. Every year, with millions of players worldwide, Minecraft is slowly growing and updating with new features and so on, including mobs, items, and weaponry.
Although it is taking a sharp turn into what is going to happen (thanks to Microsoft, since Notch permanently left), Minecraft still is a fun, interactive game to entertain gamers out of boredom! The whole idea of Minecraft is to create whatever worlds and structures you like, out of Creative Mode!
There is the Survival Mode where you have to not only find a roof over your head, but, for the best part, mine for resources, like diamonds, iron and gold, and to customize yourself, fight against mobs and to explore other parts of the world! It is a risky one, but it is the best if you make your way to becoming the most experienced player in Survival Mode.
There are also the multiplayer games, consisting of Realms and third-party servers, such as the widely known Mineplex and Hypixel, where you can team up and fight against every opponent (that is, if you’re aware of what fights are going on, and if any toxicity can happen), or play mini games with your friends! The best original unique mobs out of the game, in my opinion, are the Creeper and the Enderman (my most favorite mob, the one who has the ability to teleport and dislike being eyed at).
To the people out there who made Minecraft what once was, especially Notch himself, thank you so much for making our livelihoods and childhoods golden!
