This was originally going to be part of my 'Speckle Does Classic Sci-Fi' series... but then I figured that by no stretch of the imagination can 'The Black Hole' be described as a classic. In fact, it's a total snoozefest. And this pic really has nothing to do with it anyway.

I was only two years old in '79 so was too young to see it in a theater, but I recall it being on tv during the early 80s and having major problems staying awake. I liked the ships and robots, but there was something about it which simply left me cold. This experience kind of put me off investigating it again, although perhaps it's time I gave it another viewing through adult eyes. As an aside, the score by John Barry is great.
