The bottom of a turtle shell is a plastron. If it is flat, its a girl! If its concave- its a boy. (So they fit for...activities.) Lil paint here is a girl!

Is that a western painted turtle? Also I'm not 100% sure but it might be a little too young to tell it's gender for sure.

Still Midland. I'm waaaay too far south for a western. Flat as a board. But very young, is true.

Wow I've never seen a Midland painted turtle with a plastron like that. Tho I don't often look for turtles and just have the one in my house lol
