You sir, have not tried New Amsterdam gin. Shockingly cheap and easy enough to drink straight. Give it a try! I've converted other non-gin fans with it :)
Martin Millers is even better (but pricey!). Seriously, I've never had a hard liquor that was so easy to drink before!

Oh, come now with the conventional side-swipe of the lush life. :q I've known few department functions where the profs aren't, ah, hyper-engaging the students on some finer points of New Direction's editing of Roberto Bolano or somesuch, and whatever comes rattling out with the gin is usually well worth the hearing. That or writers are just cripplingly neurotic/shy by nature and need the sauce to loosen our ties. S'long as he gets his magnum opus art piece done, ginwalf here will find no judgment from me. <3

This is no side-swipe; it is a pleasant running-into of the gin filter life. At this event, it unfortunately amplified everyone's usual countenance instead of making all mouths run. The boorish few did their usual dominant posturing and the quiet ones stayed quiet. We should have put out some whiskey, too.
