ARE YOU KIDDING!!! Myst and Riven are some of my favorite games of all time!!! I've played through both several times. I'm going to do a playthrough of Riven as well as I want to finally complete Exile, Revelations, and End of Ages (probobly UrU as well) all 4 of those will actually be (mostly) blind. I wanted to start from the beginning though as Myst and Riven are such amazing classics.
I remember discovering Myst way back when when I was like, 8ish? Sitting in an uncomfortable ass wicker chair watching some YTer's playthrough on my mother's Kindle Fire. I've got the game myself and am hella hyped for the Riven remake thats being talked about. Probably one of my top puzzle games ever.
That is such a similar story! I found Myst by hanging out with my mom as she was playing though Myst (I was about 5 or 6) and I became intrigued and tried to play it but being so young I didn't really appreciate it. Then late into High School I found the mobile ports of both Myst and Riven and spend MONTHS playing though both of them and exploring every detail and piece of lore and then watching YouTube vids on them both.
Mysts lore is so enamoring to me. Playing it in VR is like an unreal experience to be honest. It's a prime example of a studio deciding to stick with a series and doing it well. I definitely plan to buy the Riven remake when it drops but for now I've gotta play through stuff like Firmament and the like.
