Those round things floating around are demon eggs. When a demon dies in demon space, its essence reconstitutes into an egg form, from which it reincarnates. Unless it gets eaten first, then the cycle will repeat until it manages to hatch and avoid getting eaten.

Physics don't apply in demon space, everything is shaped by chaos and willpower. A strong-willed demon may take on any form it wishes, as long as it snatches enough Od power to shape it. This is why demons see no point in forming bonds with each other.
