I like transformation and hybrid forms blending man with beast, usually in the form of centaurs who of course roam upon the land. ChrisP brought to life my vision for how I envision an aquatic hybridization, a man blended with a fish, a marlin to be exact. Not quite a merman, he's so much more and covered in scales from nose to tail fin, technically a marlin-taur.

He first sprouted a tail, a tail fin that grew larger and extended longer, pulling his legs downward. The flesh of his legs partially fueled his transformation as they were absorbed and shrunk, the bones of his feet and legs shortening and rearranging into the long pectoral fins of a marlin as his scale-covered tail continued to expand. As his lower body grew into the body of a full-sized marlin the changes didn't stop. His new shimmering scales continued growing up over his hips and covered his upper body as his sides opened up revealing gills.

Now he gets to experience the ocean as a citizen of the sea, slowly flexing his body side to side gliding silently through the tranquil water, another member of the deep.
