I'd take him out drinking or just partying if I was you~
Or take him to a lan party. His half long hair seems to be a sign of neglect towards caring for his hair. And mainly that's a sign of geeky-ness..

It's funny you point that out. I probably did bad in drawing his hair so messy. D'shea is very orderly and kind of keen on how he looks, to the point of carrying an emergency comb around to make sure things are nice and straight.
Maybe he just got through with practice after school. Yeah that's it.
