Turns out there's less competition when you hunt during a tropical storm, and luckily Pona here is skilled enough at swimming to easily deal with the rough seas.
Pona na 'Oka, translating from her draconic language to Bright Shell in English (and often shortened to just Pona or Shell), is considered a "sea dragon." In this fantasy world, sea dragons aren't a separate species of dragon, but rather an ethnic group that describes a specific group of Caribbean dragons that have highly aquatic lifestyles. Sea dragons do have some differences compared to other dragons, they typically have longer and more slender bodies, along with lacking horns, but ultimately they are still the same singular species of dragon and any physical differences are largely superficial. The primary thing that separates sea dragons from other dragons is simply lifestyle. Pona, like other sea dragons, spends the majority of her life in the water, living on a diet of fish and seaweed.
