Timmy Turner, an average kid no one in his world understood with fairy godparents, one of the original members of the NU and had also been a consistent member up until he was missing during the Globs of Doom incident. As it turned out, Jorgen von Strangle had wanted to avoid another incident where fairies would be used for energy for a certain mad scientist he had been forced to share a body with, and so he closed their world from the wider multiverse, preventing wishes to travel to other worlds beyond their universe. While this left Timmy to deal with his own rogues instead of saving the wider multiverse, he did start missing his interdimensional friends and began working on himself to prepare for the day they'd need his help again. At the very least, Cosmo and Wanda were allowed to stay with Timmy due to his accomplishments with saving the multiverse repeatedly. Fortunately for him, though unfortunately for the multiverse at large, something would pull him into the multiverse once again.
