Originally, while researching foods named after animals and animals named after food, I found a species of bird called the jambu fruit dove. Despite adoring the colors on these things, I wasn't sure what a jambu fruit was, or if it was even a real food. Turns out, "jambu fruit" or "wax jambu" is another name for something called a java apple, which I'd never even heard of before, but much like the bird named after them, I really liked their colors and thought they would translate well in a character design.
