I'm trying to teach myself to draw with my Wacom tablet. Using digital art tools and programs is dauntingly different than just drawing on paper, at least to me. This was done on the neat little Graphire that fluffy generously gave me. I made the Crow and the clouds in MyPaint, then fused them together with GIMP. You can see some artifacts around the bird where I didn't think to make my drawing with a tranparent background, and had to try to clear the white. I got most of it.
It's by no means great as a picture, but I'm pleased that I was able to control the tools. and get close to what I had in mind, so I'm posting it. I'm a happy Pony :)

Thanks! That was a more appreciated gift than you'll ever know. I thought it was going to be like drawing on paper, which it's not, so I was frustrated by it at first, and gave up on it for a bit. MyPaint made rather a large difference, as it can be used pretty much like a brush. I'd been trying to draw directly in GIMP, which I think was a mistake. Anyway, thanks, and I'm glad you like it :)
GIMP's brush model is pretty terrible. And yeah the tablet does take some getting used to. I highly, highly recommend getting some spring-loaded "stroke" nibs from Wacom. They feel way better than the normal ones.
The felt ones are also kind of fun in that they feel like a magic marker, but they wear down really quickly.
