Marble is a very prized material found in massive abundance in the capital city of Meno Alsera, hence the city's rapid rise from modest farming village to major metropolis even before the Republic was founded. It is the main construction material used in the upper tiers of the city and used widely in sculpture and architecture.
The Meno Alsera Academy of Fine Arts holds an annual Marble Sculpting contest each year for Grade School children where aspiring future artists present their best work in the hopes that they will be selected for future enrollment. Many of these submissions are often wildly ambitious yet reveal the inherent lack of experience, mainly in the army of creepy, jagged and bizarre busts of the Academy Dean that are submitted each year.
