Animation #24 has been removed from the public collection by request of the original commissioner
Regular art commissions are fun, and I enjoy working on them. Figuring out all the ins and outs of a new piece. Perspective, body shape, story. As good as it feels to complete such a piece, I found it difficult to turn off that perfectionist side of our brains that simply is never satisfied with something simply being finished. I wanted something different, I know YCHs have been around but I did not consider them as I felt they didn't offer too much novelty.
Sometimes I receive a note asking if my commissions are open, what my prices are. And I appreciate the interest very much. I feel a bit bad having to explain that doing regular commissions is something I only do in very rare circumstances when I really like the idea you provide. I found myself thinking of a way to make it more efficient. And to still allow those interested a way to receive their own piece!
Animation has always been a bit of a hobby thing up until April of last year. Halfway through working on them I got the idea to turn them into a YCH. Which would tie me over financially for the upcoming half year. The body shape itself would stay the same. But the head, expressions and other details would be mine to animate. Thus adding novelty. Yet keeping it rigid enough to be able to shut my brain up whenever it tells me I'm not trying hard enough, as the framework has already been set.
I opened ten slots. What I did not expect however, and what I'm still grateful for a year later now that they're all finished. Is the outpouring of interest for them. I was not sure if those ten slots would even be filled. Yet, after three days. I had a total of eighty one form submissions. I decided to increase the number to 30. Unfortunately I was not able to pick everyone. But I was able to work with some very cool characters. Making each different in their own way.
Despite it being monotonous, It was a great success! And I plan on doing a different type of ych animation in the future. Many mornings were made being able to cruise along working on these. And while I'm happy to be done with them. A part of me will miss it.
Thank you for reading about my feelings towards this project and how it went. And for your excitement in seeing these animations get posted bit by bit on places like Twitter. And in general for being awesome. <3
I hope you enjoy the presentation!!!

You absolutely rock Luke! Congrats on finishing such an amazing project! :D
You deserve a big cake with the amount of work and effort you put into these animations. Keep up the good for Luke!
I'm glad you like em <3
Loved all the personal touches on each. You've destroyed many folks with this- and I hope you realize how in demand you really are! You have a ton to offer to our big and round and rotund community and you deserve to get to be financially independent through your work!
In regards to the animations themselves, they’re all very well done! (Wil’s, Cupric’s, and Neer’s have to be my faves.) They honestly make me wish I had the funds/ability to have gotten one myself. x3
Also loved the detail of the pictures in the background, including the number on their jersey.
