The most recent hand cannon I added to my collection. A 444 marlin ssp-91, I bought it from an older gentleman at a gun show. He said he hadn’t fired it with the muzzle brake on it. I inspected the gun and I noticed the muzzle brake was for a 7.62 I told him it was a good thing he didn’t shoot it. He was curious what would have happened if the muzzle brake would have broke or if it would have shaved the bullet. Well when I got home I took off the muzzle brake, ordered a new one and scope mount bases. I haven’t shot it yet but I imagine it’s going to have more recoil than my 30-06.

Someone gave me some .444 Marlin cartridges I have no use for. The most powerful closed-breech pistol shot to date was a club member's Thompson Center in .375 Magnum. Surprised the owner by getting the round on target. Shot a Dan Wesson revolver at an outdoor fair of the same caliber, striking a steel ram target 50 yards downrange.
