Paw Fashion 18: 'Xander' sandal
Reaction to the Idrin sandal seemed pretty positive so I figured another sandal design would be fun, and one or two people suggested more of a strappy Greek-style design. So here ya go. :) These seem like these could be pretty comfy, light and minimalist but still sporting a thin sole to protect your pads, and the leg straps go high enough to still give them a striking look. Of course, just being straps that tie one could wear them lower on the ankle if that look was preferred.
The design is simple and classic enough that these could work in just about any time period imaginable, though obviously a Greek/Roman/gladiator sort of look was the inspiration here.

Maksio5 helpfully pointed out that the heel of the sole would flop around a bit much due to where I'd positioned the side straps.

I would too if I could! Some at least are more or less based on real world designs, like these ones you can find something fairly similar if you search around for greek or roman costume sandals a little. That's how I found reference art for this anyway! ;)
Not a bad idea, and one I might keep in mind. ^^ Some of my boots have thicker soles but so far I've been keeping the sandals with thin soles. I think some of that is just me being cranky that in the real world, as a male it's pretty much impossible to find sandals meant for males that don't have huge, heavy, chunky soles. And that irritates me so I vent my frustrations by design a bunch of paw-wear that I wish I could have. ;D

YES!! That is awesome! Looks just as sexy as I thought it would. ^^; For the sole, the sandal might not even have to come all the way up to the "heel" since anthro Dorey is digitigrade. if it does, you might need one extra strap at the top of the heel to hold the sole to his heel. Unless of course he's just wearing them to further tease everyone and has no intention of keeping them on for long. ;)
That is certainly true, the sole wouldn't have to go up that far! I just stuck with that look as it worked well on the Idrin design. And you're right, somebody else pointed out too that the way I positioned the strap the heel of the sole doesn't quite have enough support, so either I should have moved those side straps a little further back or added a small strap at the heel to go up and connect with where the straps cross behind the ankle. Maybe if I get bored I'll go back and add that. ;)
