I just wanted to show you guys how i make my dtd patterns for the heads i make since i get asked a lot XD

Just a simple pattern and you can see how the arrows are pointed to help indicate which way the fur will be going =D

do you keep the neck and head as one piece (Like say you were making a one color suit) would the fur from the head run on into the neck or do you sew a separate piece to the head to make the neck?

Im sure it can be done as one piece, however, since i like making form fitting neck...the neck is made into 2 pieces which i sew on last.

I had a little trouble with PK's but how do you make it so you dont cut into the foam when you cut it?

I use a really sharp Personna blade and i tend to want to lift the duct tape little by little so it wont cut into the foam.

Thanks so much! It's hard to work on one without the shoulder area. XD And I can't wait to see this roo done! :D I take it you use zippers for tight necks like that?

that looks so nice and in the finished pic I love how you did the lashes. I was wondering is there something in between the duct tape and the foam? so as the tape doesn't stick to it, kind of like what you do for a duct tape dummy

Nope there is nothing between the foam and tape. I an just very carefully not to press the tape too hard against the foam =D

you put the duct tape on the foam head to make a pattern for the fur you're going cut out right? when you take the tape of the head doesn't it stick to it's self and make it hard to work with?
