Was a huge fan growing up watching the anime series "The Slayers". Xelgadis was a human character that was turned into a Chimera, 1/3 human, 1/3 blow demon and 1/3 golem. Gryphons tend to be a mixture of animals and felt like it was a good crossover between the two, hence why I turned him into a Gryphon.
