The most easy and quick of all the areas of the mountain to describe, as it is mostly just a microcosm of the country of Egypt as a whole, distilled down into a gigantic city, with a Population density like the main city of Cyro, the markets like Sphax and of course the pyramids like that of Giza just all with a slightly more demonic twist.
Crossing one of the 3 great bridges that provide safe passage across the oasis ring from the vast deserts behind us, we arrive in the great city itself the main hub of Midnight Mountain where 80% of the population is located and where we see an ecosystem of the mountain.
Walking down the bridge's steps we step onto 1 of the 3 main roads of the city, think of it almost like the peace symbol where the city is somewhat of a perfect circle with one main road running right through the centre from south to north with 2 other bigger roads on the south-west and south-east moving diagonally upwards so all 3 meet in the city centre and then the now one single road moving north to the main centrepiece of the city.
As you would expect of the central hub now on the main stress, they are alive with the hustle and bustle of thousands of demons of all kinds of shapes, all in Egyptian style clothing and all owned by Midnight herself, each one having there own story to tell, some once pirates that tired to invade the mountain and after failing they either forcefully lost there souls or willing gave them to her for a more stable life on this island of eternal night, other like Imp herself coming here willingly, seeing Midnight as a idol, as at the very least if your in this ring and you know your not winning Mammon's rigged game of greed you might as well at least serve under a powerful demon you like or respect and some just born here on the island and choosing to stay as one rule across all rings decreed by the 7 sins is due to being born as a demon in hell, as a fair chance every soul is given a 18 year grace period to decide what they wish to do, like they cannot escape there ring but if you are say born on Midnight Mountain you can grow up there, see the Greater Demons and the Arch herself, learn of your home land and on your 18th birthday you can choose what you want. some will like their home and just give their soul to the Arch that rules that area to stay in the arch's area under their jurisdiction, some will go one step further like here on the mountain not only giving their soul but also their body with creatures like the Anubian Guards.
As you are so loyal that not only do you want to stay but you want to defend your home, now also giving up your physical flesh form to be turned into a uniform obsidian jackal that looks like all others your name is erased and replaced with a serial number, but still with a level of free will and ability to rank up to things like a commander (See "Anubain Guards") and other will choose to leave at which point they will have a quick painless execution so that they respawn totally reset on the very outer edge of there respective ring to make there own way, of course, if it is too much and you can make you way back to your homeland any arch will willingly accept you back, after all a soul is a soul and a soul is just more power for an archdemon.
But to keep on point, in this area, you see hundreds of demons moving around this gigantic city going about the day-to-day lives we all have, traders going back and forth from the 3 great bridges, accompanied by Mummified Slaves and Anubain Guards, as wears are exported and imported in and out of the city, general populations walking the streets and inside there homes.
Mixed into the population are Mummified Slaves either accompanying their masters or mindlessly walking waiting for orders as well as Anubian Guards patrolling the streets, some single unit Sapphire Solider ranks and a few Topaz Commanders accompanied by 3-4 Emerald Grunts, there is always at least one guard within eyesight giving both a feeling of dystopia as your always been watched but also a sense of safety as given how they are made with the point that they are programmed to protect the island.
As we move north down the main street to the point where the 3 main roads converge we reach the central plaza that is a grand central bizarre, a vast area of market stalls selling everything from meats, to produce, to clothes, to everyday use products, all these stalls and makeshift streets sitting around a giant central fountain with the main fountain statue being that of the great arch-demon that rules the island.
Again your standard out door Arabic-style bizarre you would see in a area like this in the mortal realm, just with more demonic residents, the only thing that is slightly out of place is on the northern part of this giant central plaza, on the right of the big main road that will lead us to the boss of this area is building made purely out of Grey steel and iron with more Victorian looking architecture opposed to the Egyptian sandstone structures around it, with a giant golden cog above the door, boxes coming in and out of this building all branded with the same 8 point cog, as you move closer to it and the main road north you notice some of the vendors are selling products from boxes bearing the cog logo on the side, this is of course a miniature version of "The Factor", that being the pride ring itself and a symbol of Lucy's over all control as the queen of hell, no matter what ring you end up in, while 90% of the time, mentions and iconography of your respective sin will be everywhere, most of the ring in some shape or form will have the cog logo around as a show of Lucy's over all control.
And here in the greed ring it is the most prevalent after all, "The Factory" produces everything and given greed is based around gaining currency that means there is economy and with such a variety of island that can produce special unique products that can only grow due to unique properties of that island like Midnight Mountain's gemstone fruit, nearly every civilized island has a miniature factory with arch demon instructed to provide a certain amount of produce to "The Factory" to be sold across all the rings witch they will be compensated for, as given only the Sins can freely travel between the rings Lucy made it so that other ring's exports can be moved between rings via having them teleported from a mini factory to "The Factory" itself and then teleported to the different customers of the different rings as need be and given the greed rings vast amount of island and stable economy of gaining and losing gold there is a mini factory on nearly every civilized island of the greed ring from the outer port ring edge all the way to El Dorado itself.
Moving just past the central bizarre to the north is the one big main street where the 3 pathways have converged, this one singular northern path leads towards the 3 Peaks that now tower above the city with the summits barely visible, now closer to them, even the giant structures of the city are ant-sized compared to the 3 mountain peaks.
Said giant structures being the 3 great pyramids of the city, located at the very end of the central pathway and touching the higher area of the lush green crystal hills above, these 3 pyramids rise up over the city with the far left and far right ones easy the height of a city block, then the big main central pyramid towering over the city like a skyscraper with the main pyramid having an interesting point, that the peak of the pyramid is floating above the main body and while all most invisible from this ground level you can barely make out that the flat area under the floating peak has some kind of railing around it, as it does as the central pyramid is the Temple of the 3rd greater of the island, The Great Sinner that "The Void" tired to erase "The Pharaoh", the creator of the Anubian Guards and the Obsidian Jackals that can be seen all over the island (See "Anubian Guards" & "Obsidian Jackals").
From this viewing platform, the great sinner can look down over the city and all he controls like a God overlooking his domain which is quite fitting given his god complex.
As mentioned above "The Pharaoh" is the creator of the Anubian Guards and as such his role for the island is security and stability, using the army he has created he makes sure that his city and the island overall has its order maintained, with nearly unbreakable obsidian bodies that can be easily repaired this near invincible army can quickly overwhelm any invading demon that is alone or does not have a sizable crew and even then given that higher rank guards can still use different auras as they are still a real soul trapped within there new body even a sizable crew can be quickly dealt with by only a few pack leaders and Greater citrine level guards that will have a very advanced level of observation and armament.
As such security is pretty much assured across the mountain with very few able to match the higher ranks powers and when adding there secondary tasks like becoming a escort for import and export merchants or working with things like the sentient crocodiles both on the river banks and on the bridges it ensures that not only is the island secure from threat but also goods will transported safely, ensuring that the economy will be stable as the safely transported good can be bought or sold by Midnight Mountain to make the mountain as much gold as possible witch in a ring that is all about amassing large quantities of treasure that is a good thing and with this security ensuring safe transport of good leading to a stable economy it helps out the 4th greater, located in the crystal hills that to keep it brief is the tax guy that dose all the paper work with things like Mammon's tax where a % of gold earned by an island will be returned to Greed herself, with "The Pharaoh" and the 4th greater having close communication, with the 4th sometimes seeing a export and requesting a certain amount of security for transport from "The Pharaoh".
As standard with this area, most of the interiors of the the 3 pyramids follow the standard look of a pyramid interior, walls full of hieroglyphics on sandstone walls, nice decorated pillars and extravagant hallways, little off shoots that lead into rooms full of sarcophaguses that Mummified Slaves can return to, a multitude of plinths for Anubian Guards to return to for repair and recharge, some empty some filled with Anubis statues, them being guards in there recharge mode, all leading to the outer sanctums that is basically a house, especially in "The Pharaoh's" pyramid with the outer sanctum having things like a kitchen where servants can prepare food for the great demon fox, passing into the inner sanctum that is a + shape with south path being the grand hallway to the throne room in the centre of the +, "The Pharaoh's" personal treasure collection room on the left, his bedroom to north behind the throne and the Anubian Guard ritual room to the right of the throne where all Guards are personally created by the great sinner himself.
Behind the pyramids, built into the mountain stone is a great Sandstone door, trimmed with the classic sapphire and gold with 4 big Anubian Guard statues on either side of the door and an obsidian logo built above the door with emeralds for the eyes in the silhouette of Midnight herself, this door leading inside the mountain to area 5 and the only way to progress higher up, naturally being behind the great pyramids not many normal pubic demons can get there, what with the Greater's pyramid swarmed with Anubain Guards and Mummified Slaves and even if you could, the door is heavily guarded with at least 2 Citrine rank guards that directly serve the Greaters, guarding it at all times as the overall commanders with 2 pack leaders also with them as well as 10 sapphire guards, as only those that have got a signed right of passage from "The Pharaoh" himself my pass into and further up the mountain.
The last point of note is on the far back east and west sides of the city just above the east and west bridges are giant fields of simmering golden wheat, like the fruits of the oasis ring these fields are also harvested and packed up to be moved into the city for processing, this wheat is both turned into standard flour to be used in cooking but more special fermented in a building attached to Lucy's Mini factory and turned into ale, fermented in casks and comes in two different types depending on the cask.
The 1st type being made from the light mineral, rich palm tree wood of the palm trees that can be found around the oasis ring.
Palm casks produce a light shimmering golden ale that has the light golden shine of honey but a more free-flowing consistency of water as the nutrients from the palm wood leak into the liquid leading to the consistently mentioned above with this version having a refreshing rich taste
the 2nd type of cask is made from the darker dry wood of the baobab trees found within the deserts of the island.
Baobab casks produce a much darker amber ale that has less of a shine and a bit more of a thicker consistency best likened to that of British tea after it is mixed with the milk, this is due to the dry wood of the baobab tree, sucking nutrients from the liquids leaving more of a thick fermented product and less of the liquid aspect given the baobab wood is absorbing it.
this leads to an ale with the consistency mentioned above that has a much more bitter and powerful taste witch in terms of alcoholic contents is a lot stronger than its palm wood counterpart.
Much like the fruits, these ales are bottled up and shipped across the greed ring as well as a portion sent to "The Factor"(Pride Ring)
for Lucy to sell to all other rings, given travel to other rings prohibited, with the exception of the sins and their right hands
(The Lords) that may sometimes have to go in the sin's place if the sin is busy.
Much like the fruit, a lot of this golden wheat is also kept by the mountain and sold at several of the bars located within the city, with it, of course, being a popular drink of the Anubian Guards as given their obsidian bodies and the magic that powers them, it negates 99% of the negative effects of the beverage, being pure obsidian and having no bloodstream or organs, when ingested, the liquid will just vaporize once it hits the molten stone where the stomach would be, preventing any kind of lose of sense or intoxication, the most they will feel is a slight sense of happiness from the alcoholic steam they smell as it leaves there body.
(this is an area bio, not a biology lesson, so no need to go into detail)
Taste-wise, while it is just personal preference, on whether your pallet favours a richer or bitter taste it does seem, based purely on speculative date of who has been seen drinking what, that the lighter palm wood ale is mainly consumed by guards and city dwellers and the more bitter baobab wood ale is consumed by the higher class of the crystal hills above.
The last thing of The City to note is back at the golden wheat fields.
Just behind both of them over looking the fields and standing as tall as the 2 smaller pyramids are giant sphinx statues bearing the features of the cat demon herself, with giant golden rings for the bracelets, neck and horns and giant golden moon on its tail and a giant gold crown with massive rubies and amethysts to represent Aplistia, the Midnight Sphinx's eye also a giant carved amethysts imbedded into the eye in such a way that its looking down over the wheat fields to give the feeling that she is alive and watching over the fields, while like the oasis ring there are guards patrolling the fields and making sure workers do not attempt to steal or try anything, here it feels like you don't want to try anything as even when not looking at it you feel the gaze of this giant statue as if it is watching you, you don't want to think about it, but what if it was alive watching the fields in what could be described as a sadistic way, egger to have someone defy the mountain so it can move and destroy or eat them, but that's just silly after all its just a statue.........Right?
But, with that out the way we move back to our demon fox's Great Pyramid to stroke his ego and give into his god-complex desires for a while to obtain our right of passage that we now take to the back of his great pyramid and to the giant sandstone door carved into the side of the mountain where now having our documentation we can pass the gate into the mountain's interior.
However given the complexity of the interior and the fact it connects to the peaks above and a secret area below, this is classed as Area 5, so next time we will skip over the interior for a moment and focus on the last normal area of Midnight Mountain that sits just in front of the towering peaks that witch the 3 pyramids level with, the lush green Crystal Hills.

But, with that out the way we move back to our demon fox's Great Pyramid to stroke his ego and give into his god-complex desires for a while to obtain our right of passage that we now take to the back of his great pyramid and to the giant sandstone door carved into the side of the mountain where now having our documentation we can pass the gate into the mountain's interior.
However given the complexity of the interior and the fact it connects to the peaks above and a secret area below, this is classed as Area 5, so next time we will skip over the interior for a moment and focus on the last normal area of Midnight Mountain that sits just in front of the towering peaks that witch the 3 pyramids level with, the lush green Crystal Hills.
