Stardate 8130.4
On a survey mission of the planetary system Ceti Alpha VI by the U.S.S. Reliant (Riley). Captain Terrell and his first officer Pavel Chekov transported to the surface of the planet to investigate a minor energy fluctuation on the planets surface, they would soon run into a group exiles and there leader Khan Noonien Singh.
Soon it was reviled that the planet they thought was Ceti Alpha VI was in actuality Ceti Alpha V the planet where Kirk marooned Khan and his crew 15 years earlier.
Using mind controlling parasites, Khan used Captain Terrell and first officer Chekov to hijack the Reliant and beam the her crew down to the planets surface, and implanting a virus into Riley's computer making her much like her captan and first officer, completely under Khans control. Khan and his crew now in control of the U.S.S. Reliant would set off to get revenge on Admiral Kirk and the Enterprise.
