So, next step, try doing Emma in colour (the story is planned to be B&W, but line art left open for possible future colouring)...That's when i start to see problems...the thinness of the chin here, the neck too thin...the Miss Bianca sort-of-style eyes...no....leaving off most of her hair's black tips....no.
More re-designing to do...
Still, it's a pretty pic in it's way...i will be re-doing this soon with the current design.
Emma being cute/girly might happen once in the story, if at all...Still, this is part of who she is, there's just nowhere safe in her life where she can be like this....

Heeee!
Well, yes, and no. Those sort of blouses were designed to push-up and show-off the bosom. Her far shoulder is hidden by her hair. Her far arm is crossing over her tummy, etc - In a full body straight on shot. In the final design her eyes are bigger , neck a bit wider, and she more of a chin.
Emma is a bit plump all over. i'd guess she's somewhere between a C and a D-cup. An associate, maybe friend, of her's, Hestaphia, is always chiding her to lose weight and be more "feminine" to attract a spouse. Emma doesn't care - Emma is quite the "tomboy" sort of character, as she grew-up in the wild with her anthropologist parents. She tries to conform a bit to colonial life, with Hestaphia's advice.
"Tomboy" or not, she does have a "girly" side - she enjoys the feel of fine fabrics, a swooshy dress, but that's sort of private to her...Being dressed-up and frilly in public embarrasses her, and she tends to get annoyed with Hestaphia for pushing her into "feminine attire" when she is in no such mood...
