I have to say that Lucky dose make her costumes very similar...but that’s also a part of their charm. Kinda like buying from a particular artist because you like there STYLE not just because you want to be featured in a "big name artist" 's Gallery.

The only reason your paying the extra money, is because you get twice the quality! DHC suits are comfortable, adorable, and loved by furries and non furries alike. There 'simplicity' is typical to an ANIMAL COSTUME, which is what fursuits are point blank.
Furs and Con folk are impressed by complex costumes, hell so am I! But when it comes to being in a PUBLIC setting, less is more. DHC are liked but common people not JUST furries, which also adds to there appeal

When I went to go fursuit shopping, DHC was my first choice. This was BEFORE I entered the fandom and new what a popular company they were. I looked at them for there QUALITY, not there POPULARITY.

I have two suits from a well known maker and I must say that they are worth every penny. The amount of work that goes into these things, especially from a polished and professional maker- is amazing.

tl;dr? Hating someone because you can't afford their product which they sell to make a living is the most selfish thing one could ever do.

No two suits look alike, whether they are made by professional suit makers or not. An artist has a style that usually shows through in their suits just like in their artwork (otherwise if you commissioned them you wouldn't know what the hell your final product would look like, amiright?). Most of them are also constantly trying out new techniques for fursuit features, so they don't simply "find a way that works and roll with it".

Also...you make fursuits and sell them. You may not be pulling in orders like professional makers, or be in a spot where you have your style down, but why do you think the suits you (or any other not-well-known maker) make have any more love and hard work put into them than the ones professionals make? They started out small too. And um, if your suits became popular enough one day in the distant future for you to make a living off of them...would you tell people to no longer buy them from you because not as much love goes into them anymore?

Having two suits just shows that your financial priorities are fucked.

i would say professionals prices are some what fair, due to the fact that the materials used are half the cost itself; what with faux fur AND foam being a petroleum based product, and the spike is petroleum prices, that itself is maybe a quarter of the price. Professionals tend to use the more quality products, making them more expensive, but all in all its worth the money; beauty isnt the only goal, durability is important too.
then add to that cost of shipping, plus labor hours. i'd say a suit maker only takes 40-55% profit.

Now im neither defending, or bashing anyone. Just giving my opinion on why prices are the way they are, without any personal view on the matter :)

If their prices are sooo high then they wouldn't be making suits constantly, for a high quality suit that is made by professionals they are well worth the price. These suit makers need to make a living to and they put so much work into the creations you have no right to complain about the prices

It's worth every penny to buy a good-quality product. I've had my suit for 2 years (made by DHC) without a seam ripping or any type of structural malfunction. You get what you pay for, after all.
