Azori is Merv's old friend. This old warbird is from an original production run during the Titanomachy. He lived through the horrors of those times and all that came after. He's few thousand year old bon vivant of a gryphon. Azori is on the upper limit of how big gryphons get. When he has had to get physical, he is a bruiser up close and personal. He has since left Earth to live on Ring during the renaissance with his pride of two other gryphons and two sphinxes. (Lianna, Trevor, Ayrl, and Rawn) He loves fish, singing, and having a good time. His home on Ring is the island of Midpoint in the Halcyon Archipelago. He is one of the larger island's wardens who tend to it's gates much like Merv does in Valewood.

In Gryphons Pride, he is the other gryphon Merv chats with before deciding to approach Ariana about his and her feelings. Once upon a time, he may have hit on Merv only to learn that unlike most gryphons, Merv was hetero. Neither took offense and to this day he occasionally jokes about Merv being a heart breaker. The big guy was genuinely happy for Merv this century when he formed a pride. "Finaly... He's not single anymore!" may have been heard on his island nest.
