People say that owning a dog is a big responsibility, and yeah, they're right... but what exactly do you do when your dog decides that simple dogfood isn't enough to fill it up? A devious mutt called Ava, after feeling unloved by her owner... decided just that after a strange instinct led to her discovering she had some rather... unique abilities.
Short Story Below:
Ava didn't like her new owner. Not since he had started giving her the disgusting mushy mince he dared to deem as 'food'. Not since he had yelled at her for hopping up to sleep on the comfy leather lounge (which apparently was meant for 'humans only', and not since he had started making her sleep outside on the second floor deck. None of this had made any of the slightest bit of sense to Ana, as she had done her best to bond with her owner, only to be denied again and again.
As more time went on, Ava found herself begining to hate her owner just as much as she hated the food he gave her. So one night, as she lay out on the patio in the cold on her little dog bed, she traced an idea in her head. One that had been circulating in the back of her mind since an incident a few days ago, but now for the first time was seriously considering.
Ava knew of something she could do... She wasn't sure how, but she had done it in an incident that had occurred only a few days earlier. An incident that had ended up with Ava lying on her back in shock, with a belly filled with a flower pot that had fallen after she had accidently lost control and pelted full speed into a shelf. What had been even more bewildering, was that she had been able to digest it... with no problem at all! Within an hour it had been nothing but slush, and in a day; nothing more then a memory. She still remembered filling the bulge with her paw, stumbling around in a daze, wondering if she should show her owner.
Admittedly, she wasn't even sure if it had simply been a dream. What she did remember though, was that it felt good... very good... but would it work again? Surely it wouldn't hurt to try... while she felt nervous at the thought, something deep inside her was arguing that this change in diet was just what she needed...
An instinct that had grown continuously ever since she had eaten and digested the flowerpot. Cravings she had never had before, but now where becoming irresistible. Perhaps including them in her revenge would be useful?
Luckily, Ava got her chance. Her owner would be leaving for a business meeting in a few days, and it wasn't long before Ava was watching the front door slam, sealing her in the house for the next 24 hours.
24 hours to do whatever she wanted.
Running through the plan in her head, Ava got right to work, starting with her food bowl; the very thing she had come to hate. The thing she always found that disgusting food in.
After tipping the food out onto the floor, she stared down at the food bowl, feeling uncertain. What if she was wrong and she was just crazy? What if she chocked? Something inside her though told her otherwise. It was the same feeling that she felt last night. After eating the flower pot, her brain had tried to deny what had happened. That it had been a dream. That it was impossible to do what she had done. Yet here she was, about to attempt it... on PURPOSE. She had skipped her breakfast to make herself hungrier for the task. There was no way she was eating her disgusting dog food... she wasn't sure if she could stomach the mincy slop for much longer anyway.
If she listened to this strange... instinct... she might never have to eat that slop again.
Taking a breath, Ava leant down and grasped the bowl in her jaws. Tilting her head up, the canine began to swallow. Lightly at first, but stronger as something inside her drove her. She was so busy swallowing, that she didn't notice the feeling of her cheeks widening as somehow, defying physics, the bowl slid further into her mouth. Before finally, with a strong finishing swallow, jolting her head up, her throat bulged and the bowl slipped from her mouth into her gullet.
Pausing in bewilderment, Ava took a moment to feel the object traveling down, before stopping somewhere in her midsection. She glanced behind, breathing heavily looking for a bulge. Nothing could be seen but light brown fur, but perhaps there was a slight protrusion? The moment her paw felt the firm shape of the bowl, her heart swelled like her stomach had. It hadn't been a dream. She had done it.
Now, the feeling had hit her. Her stomach yearned for more. Ava decided to see if she could stomach other things... bigger things...
Wasting no more time, she gave into the urge and let the feast began.
A suitcase? Down it goes!
A metal briefcase? I'm sure nobody will miss that!
Some leather expensive shoes? Gulp!
Her owner's favourite silver wrist watch? That belonged to her stomach now!
A few balls? Let's see her owner tell her to fetch something now!
The TV remote, along with the retro TV? He should have paid more attention to me! Not that stupid, noisy, colour box!
A telephone? No more calls from the vet!
Finally, for desert: a pile of ironed clothing (fibres are important, she'd heard her owner say at one point), along with the iron itself.
As the final snack was sent down into her depths with a final yet sturdy gulp, Ava let out a sigh of pure relief. Licking her chops, the dog glanced back at her gut which was aa sight to behold; a large, furry mass covered in the sharp ridged outlines of the things she had eaten. Some protruding more then others. If she had been able to, Ava would be curled around to lick and rub her belly. To enjoy this feeling of being so full, while being unable to wipe the look of smug triumph off her muzzle.
A long loud gurgle sounded from her belly, which then travelled into her throat. Opening her jaws wide, Ava let out a belch that could be heard from the house next door. One that rattled the windows slightly as a majority of the air swallowed was let out in a gust. The dog lay there on her belly, stunned for a moment, before breathing another sigh of content. Her tongue lolled as she panted, feeling the bliss of feeling so full overwhelm her. The cravings she had been feeling over the past few days had vanished.
She had been right! This was WAY better then any mushy dog food her owner gave her!
As Ava turned her attention back to her gut, she noticed that her stomach was now giving off copious amounts of gurgles and sloshes, accompanied by the occasional crunch as her stomach got to work on it's metal and plastic contents. Ava's jaws once again parted, only this time in a drowsy yawn as sleepiness hit her like a brick wall.
Perhaps a little nap would do her well?
Having been stripped of her ability to even walk over to her bed, she instead slumped down on the carpet. Giving her rump one final wiggle as she got comfy in her odd position. Hind legs and rump still lifted off the ground.
Ava closed her eyes and let sleep overtake her as her greedy gut got to work.
A few hours, a lot of gurgles, and a few more quieter burps later; the belly that had previously lifted Ava's hind-legs off the ground had softened and smoothed out along the edges, bulging out from the sides as she slept off her meal. While some of the larger things eaten like the brief case and the retro TV had lasted slightly longer, in time even those finally smoothed out, before imploding inwards as the acids ate away the structural integrity.
There was no doubt that by this point, hundreds, or if not thousands of dollars worth of belongings was now nothing more then dog food for Ava's ravenous stomach. It didn't matter what something was made of; plastic, metal, other components... everything was gradually melted down into nutritious mass that sloshed and jiggled as the dog twitched occasionally in her sleep. Her belly sprawled out on the floor beside her. The hardy gurgles and crunches from before now replaced with the muffled wet sloshes of digestion. Not that the greedy stomach cared. By the time Ava's owner finally arrived home, her stomach was small enough that it could be hidden underneath her furry body.
When Ava finally awoke from her small food coma, she stood up idly with a stretch and a big yawn. Licking her lips and with a jolt remembering what had happened the previous day, Ava glanced down at where her huge gut had once propped her up off the floor. Instead, her midsection appeared slightly chubbier, along with her hips, legs, and lower neck. Unable to keep the smug look from returning, Ava beamed, watching from the corner of her eye as her master walked around with a clear look of confusion of his face.
There was no doubt he was looking for one of things she had eaten. After releasing one final quiet belch, Ava trotted off to go greet her owner. Her still full belly, hidden under her fur, sloshed and jiggled slightly as she walked. Ava's master would never know what happened, but one thing was for sure:
Ava doubted she would ever be going back to the regular dog food again...
I might make a part 2 of this, if people want. After all, who knows what else could mysteriously go 'missing' when this doggo is around?
