Original description: At long last, CJ gets some real attention after a whole year and more than a half of just being a background character. He'll get his own reference sheet and other details later so this ain't a one-off.

Not only did he appear in this very old pic, but also in my Easter mini comic where Puff Plum gets used as a pinata. He also made an appearance in my birthday image, but that's the only two
times he's shown up. Now though, he's getting a proper, actual design and oh man does he look like he's ready to tear up the streets! I tried to make him as original as possible compared to
the other characters that I've currently made for Street Soul, but in the end I succeeded. Only to realise he looks like a crossover of Neep and Vexoor with his colour scheme...

And a final note, this is one of the first submissions for July. Gotta start the month off at least something that isn't a request!


Took me that long to slowly but surely figure out how CJ, my (Ziyo's) best friend at school would look, even after a whole year. I was inspired with his design here by one of Joneoyvilde's Digimon OCs on DeviantArt, Mashinrekuon, where you can see that CJ would have a strange head design based off of Mashinrekumon, which I intended as more of a mask and not a Bomb Rush Cyberfunk style cyberhead thing. Back when I had first finished his design I was thrilled and I felt like a total genius, but looking at him now not only are the lines really crusty but I've since made a better design in early 2023 for him, as well as Syrup.

However, I do like seeing how CJ evolved in design over the two years of him not being fully introduced yet, and to all those artists and friends of mine out there, if you're ever worried about the design of an upcoming character of yours, just go ahead with their design. You can always do a good old fashioned redesign or correct and adjust the design in a later image. Seeing character design evolution is really cool!
