Today, only a few hours ago, I've just beaten Sonic Forces for the very first time. (Forces, the one where you customize your own fursona in-game. Not to be confused with Frontiers, the newer game that I've heard is open world like PSO2 New Genesis)
Still mentally processing what an incredible game Forces was, I decided to finally dip my toes in the iconic "Sonic fan-art style" for the very first time!
(I'm very well aware there are many things wrong with this image. I'm very bad at 2D drawing, and have been practicing my skills in 3D modeling more often than sketching these days. But sometimes a good expressive doodle is what the soul needs)
This drawing was based on how my Rookie looked at the end of the game. Wolf body, lighting wispon, flashy athletic shoes, brown tiger pattern, and gold tech watch.
Did my best to almost give this a "mid 2000s scenecore style" by sticking with straight jagged lines and popping colors, but I guess my lack of skill really proves that even the simplest of cartoon styles take genuine talent to create.
Although my fursona is canonically male, I've been open to the idea of making him a femboy outfit or a gender-bent form. But I mainly gave him a dress for two reasons: 1, because the only hoodies I unlocked never came in green, and 2, I was having such a fun time in a game about furries that I went crazy and turned up the furry sass meter to 11.
This game was such an adventure, and it has left me with many bisexual fantasies of holding Sonic's hand. XD
You bet your furry tail, I am 100% returning to make some more sketches of Talon in the style of Sonic Forces, and will be making everything from inflation to vore as I get better practice. Maybe even some hardcore yiff stuff if I'm feeling spicy enough. As much as I'd like to do that right now, I have a busy day ahead of me and need to get off my computer soon.

For the past year I've been falling down the steep slippery slope that is the Sonic fandom. Took me long enough, having been a furry for several years since i was a teenager, and even played the Sonic+ Collection for PS2 and Sonic Heroes on the GameCube. But for some reason, Sonic never clicked with me until VERY RECENTLY. I mostly blame my many Discord and Twitter groups from the general furry fandom, mostly made of kids younger than me who are collectively brainwashed by the "cancel culture this/that" and "shortstack furry art from the stylized 90s = physical real child abuse" crowds. With this I was never really exposed to what genuine, good Sonic fanart looked like (such as the all-time classic Sonic Inflation, or fatfur perfection seen in Big The Cat) until stepping outside my comfort zones here on Furaffinity.
All these years since the good ol' PS2 days? I've finally begun playing the Sonic games again. But now with a the adult mind of a furry, instead of my difficulty-crazed gamer brain that grew up on Metroid. And I have to say? I get it now. I'm in love! 20+ years late into my life, Sonic is becoming my furry obsession I never knew I had. Everything about it is such an adventure! I am *SHOCKED* I came up with my adrenaline junky, fast-food loving, skater kid of a fursona Talon WITHOUT the direct inspiration from Sonic in mind!
10/10 classic furry media!!!
