This fan-art is based on the 1991 animated film made and directed by Don Bluth titled "Rock-a-doodle", which is about a rooster named Chanticleer who wants to become a singer in the city!
Enter Edmond, a human boy who was transformed into a kitten by the Duke (an evil owl) who helps Chanticleer defeat him and save all the animals in the farm!
When he was transformed into a kitten, he wished in his little heart to return to his mother whom he loved so much!
Over and over again he said..."mom I miss you...!"...and I wonder will he come back and will his mission be a success?
Off course and indeed!π

I haven't seen this film; however, from some reviews I watched about it, this is the film that started the official downfall of Don Bluth's career. The Nostalgia critic put it best in his review with this line, "The good stuff seemed to end with All Dogs go to Heaven and the bad stuff seemed to began with Rock-a-Doodle."
Yeah, the 90's weren't kind to Bluth and it didn't help that the Disney Renaissance was in full swing. That, and breaking up the winning streak of films with Steven Spielberg (An American Tail and the Land before Time) didn't help, plus releasing his films on the same day as Disney's would come back to haunt him with Little Mermaid leaving All Dogs go to Heaven floundering in the box office. I believe that Thumbelina, a Troll in Central Park, and Pebble and the Penguin all suffered from studio meddling of some sort.
Omg!! I love that film,Rock-a-doodle, one of my favorite childhood film, its been awhile that I haven't seen it again, totally going to watch it later!! πππ Wonderfully well drawing of Edmund and capturing his sadness emotion, missing his family, I miss my mother too (still alive). A mother's love is truly gold.
