I've had this as my Twitter banner for a year and half and just forgot to put it here too. I got it as a notecard doodle commission from

Fishers aren't actually known for predating fish! Minks, which look like smaller and lower-slung fishers, do indeed fish and are often seen hunting on stream banks, but martens (which are more closely related to fishers) are outright hydrophobic. Fishers don't avoid water but they don't seek it out either. Instead, the name comes from the word "fitchet", which refers to polecats. I prefer the Algonquian word "pekan" for my fursona... but that leads to being confused with a nut instead of a mink, whoops.
