Name: Esther (left) and Diana (right) Zoet
Age: 18
Height: 5'6"
Species: Red Panda
DESCRIPTION:
Esther and Diana Zoet are young red panda twins, hailing from the Netherlands, living alongside their single mother in a modest home. They used to have a good life back in their hometown of Rotterdam. While their mother was working in a Dutch-based biscuit manufacture plant, they spent more time camping in the woods than studying in their old school, to the point they became the most skilled girl scouts for having quickly learned all basic camping fundamentals, much to the jealousy and ire of their fellow girl scouts. Occasionally, those girl scouts deliberately tricked the Zoet twins to get lost in the woods, but thanks to their synergistic navigation and camping skills, they managed to get back on track.
Due to their mother's occupation, they began learning to bake their own biscuits before transitioned into their favorite snacks of their lifetime, cookies. Through experience and knowledge, they started their own family business selling treats, but as they made better quality cookies, they began experimenting for more interesting ones through Diana's curiosity in chemistry.
However, the Netherlands is very prone to flooding, and the Zoets' mother is very intolerant of having a leg-deep pool in their house. In fact, a week after the twins were born, their previous house was destroyed in a serious flood, where their father managed to save them and their mother before he himself got dragged away into the sea. To this day, only their mother knows what exactly happened to their father and tries her best to keep her girls happy without telling them about that tragic event.
One day, opportunity was given to the mother, it was the time that she got transferred into Santo Tomas, California, where the American branch was newly established by the very Dutch-based biscuit company. Futher provided with a single house, Mrs. Zoet was satisfied living there, where the city is never as flood-prone as Rotterdam. Mrs. Zoet will have to continue working in that biscuit company in her new place, all while lamenting on how much she misses everything back in her hometown, and her daughters will now have a lot to learn and explore around their new home.
Of course, the Zoet twins are still required to attend the high school, given their previous grades lagging due to them prioritizing their hobbies over their future.
PERSONALITY:
Despite being identical twins, apart from their obviously mirrored hair, they display different traits. Esther is naive yet energetic and thrilling for adventure, while Diana is cocky yet smart and friendly, but together, they form a synergistic bond in getting almost everything done. They're so close with each other, that they often rely on one another to keep themselves still and alert, even despite having slight disagreements within. The only instance of independence deemed tolerable is camping on separate terms, whether they're told to split up or not.
And speaking of synergy, they work perfectly well in baking and chemistry. Diana gets to prepare a dough and to mix chemicals to either spice up a taste or uncover chemical effects, while Esther gets to literally bake and to execute experiments. Altogether, their work is done in a quick pace, but when one twin gets to do it alone, that speed is halved albeit with the similar outcome, most obviously due to their experience of working with each other. While they can switch places if needed, they're more comfortable in doing what they've been doing the most of their time.
They may be more reliable and more professional campers with a knack for baking on their own, but they're practically weak fighters. The best way they can fight back is to make use of their camping equipment and skills. For instance, they have many uses with the rope, let it be a trap, a lasso or a tool for a weapon, or they can substitute a kayak oar for a melee weapon, or even turn their own kayak into a less blunt battering ram. Experimental cookies can be a limited yet effective alternative to their advantage. Another alternative is to use a bow, for they are good archers, but they don't use it quite as much as the rest of their camping equipment, let alone using it for hunting for food.
Besides being reliant on one another however, their hidden weakness is their homesickness. They have made so many happy memories back in Rotterdam, even more than their own mother have, that they have consequently become deeply attached to it. Although they understand why their mother wants to move into Santo Tomas and work there infinitely, they still don't know whether there will be a time to go back to the Netherlands, for either a week or long. Adventuring, baking and chemistry are the best things the twins can cope with, until the time comes, that is.
