This was something I did back in February for my Character and Object class. This is the first time in years that I'd drawn a fully anthropomorphized animal, as I've generally stuck to mostly just sticking wings and tails on humans.
The original drawing for this was done traditionally, and boy, was it bad. So bad, in fact, that when I brought it onto the computer to color it, I had to redraw 2/3rds of it from scratch, using the side view as a base, seeing as it was the only decent looking view.
As for the character...
Katlamos is actually the name of two of my WoW toons, a hunter and mage, both trolls. If you've played WoW, you might recognize Kat's hair style as being one of the ones you can choose for a female troll.
This isn't really an OC or anything. We had to do model sheets for class, and I decided to challenge myself by doing an antro character.
Honest to god, I'm not fond of the front view. No matter what I did, the shoulders just looked too broad, and I couldn't fix it. The clothes aren't too great either, but in comparison to what I'd done in the past, they're beautiful. I don't like clothes, no I don't. I always draw stuff without clothes, and then add them when I work in photoshop, or after I've done lots of practices on tracing paper or something.
All in all, this was originally done on 11x14 Canson sketch paper with Col-Erase pencil, then scanned and basically redrawn and colored in Photoshop CS5.
