When I was trying to find a piece of music that could serve as a theme for Fred and Kathy's relationship, I had trouble finding something that truly captured the emotions I had in my head. They were not going to fall in love at the time, but I wanted something that would suggest that, if they just took a good look at each other and got to know each other beyond the facades, they might find something there.

Then I heard Air Supply's "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All" and instantly knew I had my theme for Fred. I've been quietly sculpting his personality to fit the lyrics ever since.

There is also a version by Bonnie Tyler, with lyrics altered to be sung by a woman, but her version is a bit less powerful than the original.

Recently I found another version, by South African singer Liezel Pieters, that is just about perfection for Kathy's part of the duet.
