I found pencils to be difficult to work with again, after not touching them for what I think has been over a year. I'm quite unhappy with the coloring on the Zara though. Might try and fix that up.

Hmm, well, it does blend in with the whole image and as I recall Zara is a bit darker in color. :3 But until you're not happy with something - work on it when you're satisfied!

Maybe you need a little practice to go back into color pencil stuff and fix your style, but I think that won't take much time before being fixed. So I surely wouldn't say a lot.

Except if you want a lot of practice just for the fun of it, if you enjoy creating many new very original pics like this one.

You need to trust your artistic skills way more, mostly.

Having tried to use pencils for coloring myself and having failed in a pathetic fasion every time, I find this to be utterly mind blowing that you can get such crazy detail and realism with those god foresaken things. Good show, massive respect, au.

It's not a headache. It's just the Zara has one of the "antenna plants" installed in its head :O! This makes much more sense, you see.

yeah, the pencils are great =) you really should do more with them.

I haven't in such a long time, mainly because I don't have many colors, and prismas are expensive :| But yeah, I think they're something I'll try and use more often.

O mai yes, live media is always wondrous when it comes from your skilled hands! The fishies are amazing...they look so natural just...growin' out of that plant-thing right there. <3 for surrealism. There isn't enough good surreal art around here these days. I do also love the little grrrrr anger-waves-of-death coming from the Zarathus and its...friendly plant friends. And the little auras of color around everything are the icing on the proverbial cake. Fifteen thumbs up.

And I agree, seeing more surreal stuff around would be nice, but it seems difficult to come by.
