Ended up very good with the background! That, I mean the background is not much, it is rough, but adds a lot of depth to the character. Compared to what I had seen those deep pencil grooves were also nicely removed I guess either by the background or some further digital editing, maybe just by proper scanning. The most professional part I think is the head, apparently there is much more work in there than anywhere else on the image. The creature itself (Well, this is more for Loiku though who designed him) also looks really credible, I envision him running on the hind legs balancing himself with the thick tail just like cheetahs or jerboas do. It would be interesting to go further by this fiction and imagine the creature's culture, maybe in further drawings.
So all in all this is a very decent job! There is room for improvements of course, more time, more detailing especially the environment and probably the setting (Interactions?), but in your situation I have to say maintaining such quality is a considerable accomplishment!
