If you are open to the idea, I'm taking concepts for monsters for a game I'm making for the iOS called Bijoumon.
This guy makes me think of an evolution to one of my beasties named Vile, link to image below.

Let me know what you think! You obviously have the kind of creative and analytical mind I could use the the contraction of Bijoumons bestiary and if nothing else I would appreciate a sounding board.

Much thanks I'm glad to hear you are interested!
iOS is the operating system that iPad, iPhone, iTouch etc. runs on. It's just the umbrella term used to refer to any iCrap from apple, lol.
Don't worry about giving him a makeover (unless you feel like it) as all the Bijoumon will be redrawn in the final stages of compiling the bestiary for the first release to ensure they have the same art style.
By the way, if you want an idea for the final product of Bijoumon, think of pokemon in a 3D style similar to Dragon Quest 9: Sentinel of the Stary Skies, with the action/strategy gameplay of Dragon Age: Origins.
I want the game to have a lot of action, but still have the ability to plan strategies without drastically interrupting the flow.
I mention that because since it'll be in 3D and action/strategy based, it might open up ideas for monsters that would seem odd in a still frame game like pokemon.

Monster hunting and 3D are the only similarities with spectrobes.
One thing that I can't stand about other monster catching games is that when you fight you fall into this sub-dimention and duke it out there, that's crap as far as I'm concerned.
I want to be able to use boulders as cover, to flank an enemy, to corner a quick opponent in a box canyon and blast them with a powerful but slow attack, or have the ability to choose to fight many at once and use an AoE ability or pull the into a hall and take them out using a beam attack or just one by one, if I use a powerful move I want to see damaged terrain, Spectrobes, Pokemon, Digimon etc. don't offer that.
The only monster game to offer that level of tactics at the moment (at least one worth mentioning) is the Pokemon Dungeon series and while it does present a good storyline to go with it, you aren't playing as a trainer, but as a pokemon leader of a mercenary band... On top of that it doesnt offer 3D and an action style, it's purely I-go-you-go.
The main inspiration for the action strategy gameplay came from watching episodes of pokemon. The various tactics used in the show infuriated me since you can't do anything of the sort in the game, an example being a fight between pikachu and an onyx; pikachus 'thunderbolt' attacks weren't doing anything to the body so ash told pikachu to use his superior speed to run up onix's back and use 'thunderbolt' on onix's head where it would have the most effect. The tactic worked and onix crumpled under the weight of pikachus cuteness. In the game, having a blindingly high speed doesn't let you run circles around a slow creature, it simply means you go first. A lot of good that'll do when the slow but strong opponent uses 'hydro cannon' or 'drako meteor' after you are done with quick attack... Admittedly, pokemon has everything balanced out well enough, but it seems wrong that ash's pikachu can use 'agility' to dodge moves so effectively and before the opponent can react he follows up with 'thunder' or 'volt tackle' but we have to sit through a pounding. Hence in my game, tactics and stats will make a difference.
If you have the right abilities and think of a descent plan of action, you can pwn a higher level opponent, David and Goliath style.

Yeah he is.
(I thought B&W were a bit better that the Diamond and Pearl. The legendaries had a better look and actually look like dragons. I am disappointed in the lack of grass tyeps and them sticking to archtype pokemon set ups like the Fghting 3 stage with the last needing to be traded to obtain and the annoying crappy bird pokemon that's everywhere!)

My main issue of grump with B&W is that they have smushed the world into tiny boxes and to create the illusion of larger maps, they loop areas in on themselves. That's fine if you happen to wonder what it would be like to live in M. C. Eschers head, but for a game it feels cheap, because the world is tiny...
Also when I ventured to seribi.net to check out the pokedex, the 5th gens seemed... forced and uninspired... It just really looks like they are ALLOWING themselves to scrape the bottom of the barrel and are "making up for it" by making the world in 2.5D and spiffy with moving parts.
Don't get me wrong, I love pokemon and always have, so this to me is like when a kid looks at his parents and notices for the first time that they are getting old... It's just sad.
