A piece I did with oils to practice folds in clothing.
I've a long way to go still, clearly. There are some things I think I captured well, and others not. Good background practice as well though, so every cloud.

Yo whaaaat, pardon me i just happened to see this on the front page, and i'm really impressed with how you did the jacket there! I've always had a hard time rendering leather with such smooth folds like that
also i know its not the focus here, but i really like how you did the bricks on the building, too! theyre stylised in a really neat way by being mostly defined by the brush strokes in the paint itself, its a cool effect :o
sorry, by the way, i if i didnt use the correct words for some parts there. i took one oil painting class a couple years back, and dont remember most of the lingo unique to the medium. so if some of that doesnt make sense, that was my bad lmao

Hey, thank you very much! I appreciate your kind words ^^ And no worries at all - I'm not a stickler for the lingo, and what you said made perfect sense. Honestly? Most of the time I'm not terribly sure what I'm doing, and just take a "Huh, well I think that might work? Let's give it a go..." approach to it all 😅
But yes, I've struggled with getting clothing to look good, too. It's one of the reasons I gave this a go, as I figured I'd never improve if I never gave it a try! Added background practice as well, so that's a plus!
