My attempt at this week's Thursday Prompt. This week, the word for the prompt was "cash".
Per normal, please be sure to check
ThursdayPrompt for more.
Kind of thought the prompt was perfect for delving into Fernando's motivation for having gone through experimental gene alteration, so that's what I did.

Yeah, I genuinely have no idea how I manage to drone on for so long like this. It was just two pages before going to bed last night and now... I get carried away and I do apologize for that.
Despite the absurd length, I am very grateful that you'd take a look at it, thanks much for that.

That was great. Reminded me of another individual who went in for some clinical trials for money and ended up with a fur coat. Just without the doctor being completely evil. I think it was the animal stuff in the waiting room that really put the two together immediately.
Anyways, I liked the whole build up and the decisions that brought him to this point and the coda scene of them reuniting. Also, red fox? Good choice.

He got lucky: he got the good doctor who is just a bit of a jerk with a short temper.
Though, I don't understand what you're talking about with the animal posters being a hint to what was to come. How would multiple postings about various animal species, their anatomy and physiology, and research studies on them in any way suggest what the trials would be like? Hmm, maybe you have a point, but I still think the staff just like animals.
Thanks much for reading through this one, very much appreciated.

Well, to be fair, he didn't really know what to expect going in. Fortunately, it does seem things are working out in his favor. I'm also glad to hear that the length didn't bother you too much; I genuinely didn't intend to go this far again, but... there I go hoping again...
Very much appreciate that you'd take the time to read this, very grateful for that.

I'm glad it all turned out OK in the end, and good choice Fernando even if you didn't know what you were actually going for! Also Fernando the Fox huh? Just noticed that ;)
Now I'm curious what the other options were and what exactly the doctor hopes to achieve with his research?
"the staff either had a sense of humor or enjoyed the company of animals" - false dichotomy! ;)

Fernando the Fox... to be entirely honest, I only just noticed that as well!
"Other case studies we had available would include Oryctolagus cuniculus, Canis lupus, Rodentia--"
"Doc! English, please!"
Dr. Kasper might not be open with his end goal and he might come across as a bit of a... rude dude, but the endgame for his research is well intentioned.
Thank you very much for having looked it over, always grateful for that.
