This is a scene from my story, Fate of the Wild Lands, where two Atanis perform some of their traditional music.

The one on the left playing the drum is Nuuka. He's the main shaman of the tribe. He is loud, extroverted, a bit obnoxious, and has a fiery temper. He passionately defends and enforces the traditional laws and customs of the Atani. This is mostly because he suffers from severe religious OCD (unbeknownst to the rest of the tribe).

The one on the right playing the flute is Derau. She is an old, wise, and highly respected matriarch of the tribe. She is quiet and reserved and does not speak unless spoken to. Her advice is frequently sought after, and she always acts as mediator if there are any disputes within the tribe. Even though she has never had any pups of her own, she is often referred to as the Mother of the tribe.


Now, I haven't quite worked out whether this scene is canon or not. Logically, canids would never be able to play musical instruments, let alone make them!
Even the way Derau is holding the flute in this picture is simply impossible!
But then again, this is just make believe, so I might just let it slide.
