Sheyenas are "never in the mood" because their culture has indoctrinated them into the belief that sex is nasty, unpleasant, painful, and potentially life-threatening. They mate because they have to, in order to perpetuate the species, and for them, it's like having a bowel movement--it's something you have to do, you want to get it over with as quickly as possible and generally don't want to talk about it afterwards.
The guyenas, of course, are constantly hard up, and will mate with anything that doesn't fight back, which is why so many people are terrified to face Hyena Brigade soldiers on the battlefield.
