The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8 is not the same car as the Eclipse. The Evo 8 has an inline-4 turbocharged engine that puts out around 280 HP (Horsepower) and is 4WD (4 Wheel Drive AKA All Wheel Drive).
The advantages of a 4WD vehicle is that it'll always have the quickest acceleration from a stopped position and it is incredibly stable.
The disadvantages are that it almost understeers (not turning as tightly as it should) as bad as an FF vehicle (Front mounted engine/Front wheel drive).
FF vehicles have the worst turning radiuses (How tight or loose the wheels turn), but are easier to repair because it doesn't need a driveshaft to power the rear wheels.
The Eclipse is an FF vehicle, but I don't know if it has a 4 cylinder engine that puts out around 190 HP or a 6 cylinder engine that puts out around 265 HP unless Ronzo elaborates on his Eclipse's specifications.

Not since the latest generation of Eclipses, unfortunately. That's why I'm not so fond of them the last few years. There aren't enough AWD sedans and sports cars out there for the common man.
Skyline/Infiniti G35, Lancer, anything Subaru. That's pretty much the list, until the Dodge Avenger R/T comes out.

i agree its not much fun muscle cars (euro, us or asian) i still wish they dint discontinue supra with they have done now, so i guess the one thing you can do is to find smaler car companies with still makes thse cars.
allso fun sportscar is vaneshing in favor of more mumbo jumbo and luxery and makes em heavier...

There's been talk of bringing the Supra back, although I'm of two minds about the design they used.

I was referring to the NEW Lancer. As in the restyled re-engineered car that will get its Evo X version next year. I like the basic car because I can tune it myself.
And BTW, I've test-driven the new Eclipse. It handles ebtter than a lot of the best rear and all-wheel drive cars I've driven, and its turning radius is EXCELLENT.
...Either that, or I'm a much better driver than I think, but I'm reasonably certain it was all down to the car.
Still, the new Lancer is overall better, in my opinion, than the new Eclipse.

niiice, (late) welcome to the Eclipse family, lol.
got a 2nd gen, revised body(97-99). love that thing to death, but the woman that had it before me had her idiot boyfriend try to turn it into a fast and furious drift car, so i've been paying for their mistakes in repairs.
reeaaaaallly want a 1999 GSX, manual trans. though...but their SO hard to find - at least...in decent condition >.<

2000 Celica GTS 6 speed. Injen cold air intake, HKS exhaust, Apexi Fuel Computer, Ground Control Coilovers (which I'll admit isn't the best). I'd like to get a stroker kit and rebuild the engine when I finally move out of an apartment and have a garage to work in. Since I'll be doing autocross with it, I'd like to keep it all NA.
