I dunno whether this would count as "vent art" or not, since this is more of a personal peeve than an actual "fuck I'm so angry right now" thing.
I'm a nut for apocalyptic scenarios, and I'm a nut for furry expansion; mix the two together and what do you get? Me wanting to make a story about a furry world getting puffed up en masse; a "Global Parade" event, if you will.
Unfortunately, just how this Global Parade happens is where I get stuck on, mostly because I'd just feel weird writing several stories about different causes leading to the same effect, especially since my brain wants to turn small ideas into multi-chapter stories...
But whatever happens, it's sure to leave a "big" impact on whoever's unlucky enough~
Perhaps this will unintentionally crowdsource ideas without having to ask normal people for help, lol-
Scenes in first panel are from Moeyo Ken, Soreike! Anpanman, and Dororon Enma-kun MeeraMera (it appears the Japanese have good taste in scenarios, just not in species...).

Oh yeah, I actually saw the cover pic you made, and just so you know, I really like the concept~
I don't think you should feel guilty about it; I have a dozen ideas about mass puffing scenarios. Plus, your idea and the recent pandemic really only share two similarities: it has a virus, and it happens everywhere. Apocalyptic virus stories have been being made since medieval times, and they're not going anywhere just because we've gone through a virus that (while I'm in no way denying its impact), really didn't cause much more than a spat of panic-buying and resurgence in basic hygiene.
Bloat Virus is a really fun concept for a story, and if you ever want to revive the idea, I'd be quite interested~
