Over the holidays I jokingly asked my parents what animals they'd be if they were in the fandom.

My father, without even hesitating, said "A bear". His high school and college nickname was Bear, and it just always stuck.

He's also been a Scoutmaster for almost 20 years for our local BSA council. He's trying to wiggle his way out of it now that he's well past retirement but they can't seem to let him go.
