On the Xiaolin Dragons’ latest journey to find the Pearl of LiBai in Hawaii, Kimiko had found a strange treasure chest that had washed onto the beach’s shoreline. Inside of it was an old, green wooden mask. They were uncertain if it was a Shen Gong Wu, but they could definitely sense a strong power from it. Dojo suggested that perhaps it might be the Mask of Rio and had simply not revealed itself, yet, which would explain why neither he nor Wuya could sense it. Unfortunately, his memory was a bit hazy on that particular Shen Gong Wu, and it seemed further study was necessary.
Regardless, they decided to bring it back to the Xiaolin Temple with them, and managed to find a spot in the Shen Gong Wu vault to store it until they could get some answers.
While Omi, Raimundo, and Clay paid it no mind, it was quite the opposite with Kimiko, as curiosity had consumed her. Little did the others know, but when she pulled the mask out of the chest, it had emitted a strange glow on its inside. A mixture of a bright shade of green and purple. It was only there for a second, but it seemed to be long enough to entice her. She HAD to get to the bottom of it.
Later that night, making sure that the others were not around, Kimiko snuck into the vault room and opened it. She was going to see for herself what powers this mysterious mask contained, one way or another. She arrived at the shelf which contained the mask, and got it out. There was no turning back, now. Throwing caution to the wind, she started to pull it toward her face...
Meanwhile, Dojo and Master Fung had just finished checking the Shen Gong Wu scroll, and had discovered that while there is indeed one called the Mask of Rio, it in NO way, shape, or form fits the description of the one Kimiko had found. But before they could inform our heroes of this development, a loud thunder clap could be heard from the vicinity of the vault...
I've been trying my hand at writing backstories for my Mask pictures. Should I keep doing it? Or should I not?
Also, all Shen Gong Wu mentioned in the description are legit, for any that you haven't heard of, they are from the card game, but were not in the show.
