Wow! Awesome subject matter aside (denim legwarmers are cuuute), I love how you rendered her. She has a fantastic graphic, illustrative quality; that stormy splorch of watercolour behind her adds so much to the final piece. Her mane and tail are luscious.

How did you do the splatery effect for the background and not get it on the drawing? O.o

very VERY carefully.

I carefully painted around the actual figure, and did a mix of dabbing with tissue, dropping, dripping, and water blending to make the edges rough and random.

I actually got a couple random drops on the drawing doing it, but a quick dab with tissue gets 99% of it up if you grab it immediatly.

That's awesome! Mixed media pieces are great...though, I never could understand how one does the beautifully random watercolors in the background without messing up the work done in markers.

I've been wanting to as well, but green ponies are SOOO hard to find... and I hear dying & full-body paints are a pain...

*laughs* lets see... frisket's pony of sutra took me eeh... well i used glass beads for the hair.. bout fourty fifty hours total from start to finish. But if im into a design enough its a lot of fun ^-^

if I can just find a bait-worthy (I.E. NOT going for $20+ on ebay) December Pointsettia... she's the PERFECT COLOR GREEN!! Her and the October Butt-Gem pony (dunno her name, but she's I think a birth stone pony and she has a little pink gemstone as a symbol), but the butt-gem isnt removable so i'd have to sculpt something over it somehow :P

I've done only one custom pony so far, so i'm not ready for anything too ambitious ;^_^

You could always do an 80's pony :P They're my preference anyway, and it's a lot, LOT easier to find a baity one, not to mention a good green one in general since there are like 5000 different 80's MLP out there. /end mlp dorkness :B

yup! I couldn't think of a good symbol, so I just put her little black and white bunny on it.
