Okay, but do the goodguys get to be interesting? Being honest, I think having unique and creative goodguys is more important. After all, those are the characters that the player or viewer are supposed to get attached to the most. You cannot get me to attach myself to a band of generic humans that go around wiping out every creature they come across, and if that is what the protagonists are, as I'm kind of expecting, then this idea just comes off as kinda sickening, having to go around and killall these cute, likable characters as a generic band of characters based on a species known for wiping out and destroying nature and animals.
My dude, my guy...
This is just a project for me to exercise creating monsters and to not just be a png I gave them a flavor text so people have something to connect with them, and the "good guys" aren't interesting because they don't even exist, max the adventurer is the reader.
But even if they are just a generic band of humans and I would disagree hard with that mentality, sometimes you just want to put a silly cat with wings in the game and the only place it can be applicable is in the enemy section, also you're not a better or worse person for killing multiple of said cat with wings to get a rare loot from it or just to grind it for exp. Variety is the spice of life if every monster looks vicious it stops being effective.
And not everything needs to be treated like Undertale, sometimes a game monster is just a game monster you kill them and they respawn in a few minutes.

Dude, literally why could a cat with wings NOT work as a protagonist? If you MUST have the main protagonist be the most overused and uncreative species possible, why couldn't, if nothing else, their pet be one of the main characters? You can't tell me you couldn't make that work.
And, I'm sorry, but if the HEROES, the characters I'm SUPPOSED to like and connect with, the characters I'm to see the quest through and ensure the success of said quest, etc. If THEY are not unique, varied or likable, then I don't WANT all the horrible evil "cute" monsters that exist just to be killed by the main characters, especially when that's a real mindset people have that animals and non-humans are inherantly worthless and don't have value as living creatures, to be unique, varied or charming. Like, I understand wanting to have a good and likable rogues gallery, but I want to like the HEROES first. If I don't like the heroes, then I don't like the villains.

I already told you I disagree with this mentality, again not all games have a meta-commentary about the monsters they just exist just to make grinding for levels or loot better for the player, and for me it seems like you want to appear better than others for seeing behind the curtain when in the end it just shows you can't separate fact from fiction.
And of course, the main characters will be generic in RPGs they are blank slates for you to see yourself in, why do you think in most Role Playing games the main character is mute? To not break the immersion.
Why most characters are human?
Because is easier to animate and if you talk with others you will find out that the majority likes to play as humans or human-like characters.
Why do cute monsters exist?
To sell merchandise and to create mascots, have nothing for you to see them as worse than humans, and it can make funny situations like making players scared of something stupid/cute looking like Final Fantasy do with Tonberry and Cactuar, also bears exist and they can kill you easily and have the friendliest appearance and shape, so even in nature this occurs and a lot...

Dude, you are literally trying to glorify a concept where you commit mass genocide against every non-human living thing, when the VERY FRICKEN CREATURE who would probably make up every last playable character is known for EXACTLY that: wiping out life for their own gain. Turning nature into its own little toy chest. You aren't writing a fantasy story, you are GLORIFYING a real-life problem! No matter how you sugarcoat this, you are telling humans that it is okay to wipe out nature, and this is disgusting when MANY HUMANS actually believe this!

Aladdin: No! Stop this! I do NOT see myself as a zoosadist that enjoys wiping out animals and ONLY cares about humans! I think that kind of person is horrible! You can NOT shove me into the shoes of that kind of character and expect me to relate to them. You want the character to be relatable, then SHOW ME that they care about life other than humans, and that they are able to protect and ally with creatures other than their own to fight a greater evil. Do NOT expect me to relate to zoosadists. Also, if you have a fantasy world, and the races are divided by "looks human=Good/doesn't=bad," you will decimate my immersion every single time. This isn't relatable. This is NARCISSISM.

Aladdin: NO! They are NOT easier to animate. I have no problems drawing or animating non-human characters. Also, if the vast majority of media is anything to go by, and most people I know in real life are anything to go by, then humans actively despise animals and nature beyond MAYBE their pets, and relate to the idea that all life is horrible and worthless except for those oh-so heroic humans. It's infuriating. Not everyone relates to humans, especially not zoosadists. Having ACTUAL non-human allies will not kill the deeveloper, yet many creators of media seem to actively avoid making characters that can ever simply NOT be human and exist to be anything more than something to be killed by humans.

You know the funny thing? A lot of mascot characters for JRPGs are typically GOODGUYS who don't just exist to be slaughtered by oh-so heroic humans. Slime from Dragon Quest is an exception, NOT a rule. Having cute enemies just makes them harder to want to beat up, especially when, and I cannot stress this enough, the heroes are ZOOSADISTIC HUMANS! And speaking of exceptions, yes, there ARE animals that exist that don't look particularly dangerous but can be. Here's the thing, those "cute and dangerous" animals? They're typically BIG and have things to kill you with, and many of them only kill people if threatened or provoked. No one dies from a fricken squirrel bite unless the squirrel is rabid. Same with things like bat bites It honestly gets infuriating to CONSTANTLY see nature and non-humans as being summed up in black and white as "an evil, horrible creature that only exists to kill and be killed by humans."
Like, seriously, how far do I have to stretch it until it breaks? Human-sues are NOT relatable. Just because they are human does NOT make them relatable. You've literally based this "cute" concept off of destruction and genocide against nature and non-human life, and to sit here and listen to you sugarcoat this concept is honestly infuriating.
Honestly, I used to have a lot of respect for you. I actually quite like a lot of your characters, and have made a few purchase of your adoptables, but my god, I am so sick of people defending human narcissism, anti-environmentalism and trying to sugarcoat humanity committing mass genocide against all non-human life as if it's perfectly acceptable and justifyable. I'm done. I stopped tolerating this years ago, and I will continue to not tolerate this.
