No, not that kind of beaver. Get your mind out of my gutter.
The DeHavilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver is a rugged, versatile aircraft well suited for the wilds of the Canadian bush. It's not particularly fast, but it will fly with just about anything you can shove through the door, and will stand up to the roughest conditions. Turbine-powered conversions are common, but Leo prefers the sound of a classic radial engine. The Beaver was later extended and another engine added to make the DHC-6 Twin Otter, an even more versatile and capable airplane.

I've been known to lay here
And watch TV all night
Flippin through the channels
But can't find the thing I like
What happened to my favorite shows
Where they went I'd like to know
But right now what I need most in my life's
More Beaver
Wally, Ward, and June
Them there Cleavers
Nothin' else'll do
Seinfeld's awful funny
Home Improvement's kind of cool
But what I'd really like to see
On my TV's
More Beaver

I think your Twin Otter history is off, to my knowledge they took parts of the Otter to build the Twin Otter not the Beaver. We have a fair number of Beavers and Otters flying around the area on floats. Sadly all of them are now turbine powered, they use to be split between recip and turbine powered.
That engine looks more like a PW Wasp not the PW Wasp Junior that was install in the Beaver DHC-2. Yes I'm familiar with perspective views and the visual scale.

The Otter is a much bigger aircraft. Dad had a lot of hours in the left hand seat flying both of them.
Dad much preferred the Bellanca Pacemaker and Skyrocket to the Beaver and Otter. The Bellanca's handled better in the air the difference was night and day like a sports car to an over loaded pickup truck. The Bellanca's were faster in the air then the De Havillands by 10 to 15 knots on floats and even more on skis.
Mind you the Bellanca's were designed in the 1930s not the late 40s and 50s like the DeHavillands Giuseppe knew what he was doing. Sadly only a few of them remain today.
