yes, thats the same reason why i got cardboard on my window (that fancy stuff with reflecting surface on the other side) to prevent my room from heating up in summer.
South-East side and no blinds, in summer this room is warmer than outside :I

I did something similar in my bedroom so I could sleep all day when I was sick... but the duct tape peeled off and the entire 6 foot long cardboard wall fell on top of me. D:
