My comic strips are in black and white for many reasons
I don't have a tablet, I still use a pencil, paper and a sharpie marker, and I think using my colored pencils for my comics would make the strip look a bit immature and less professional.
So I took some inspiration from John Holmstrom's PUNK magazine cartoons with cross hatching for shading, and just overall keeping the picture simple instead of being over cluttered. Sometimes, less is more.
