I must be Nobody then, because I care. I'll look at somebody's porn, if it's reasonably cute, but I won't fave it. Because anybody on FA can do porn. Those who can be interesting without doing porn are the greatest artists on FA. So they are more deserving of faves.
Also, though it may be true that doing porn can get you more watchers, are those really the kind of watchers you want? More is not necessarily better if you end up losing all respect for yourself as an artist.

I've long since gotten over being upset over this. Only in an environment where risqué' material is Verboten! (and there are no alternatives whatsoever) will aesthetics and artistic skill be the sole determinant of attention received (in other words, 'good luck with that on the internet').
The only thing I find bothersome is the persistent implication that other fandoms would remain completely wholesome by comparison if they had to rely on their fans to produce the bulk of their material (without artificial content restrictions (glances at DA)).

Pra dizer a verdade.... eu não desenho porque não consigo... se disesse o contrário eu seria um hipócrita, mas já fiz o teste com minha fursona a pouco tempo (vc deve se lembrar)... O pessoal sempre valoriza mais o conteúdo adulto.

Exactly. Its frustrating. Granted.. I have done 2 images of 'porn' but in all honesty. I prefer the clean art as well as tasteful nude art. For serious.. its like.. no wonder people think we furs are sex crazed freaks. Look at all the shyte they gotta look at. e.e -snorts-
Its funny how true this is, have the perfect example on my gallery something I put close to no effort on and just posted it without even bothering to properly outline etc got 1000+ views almost instantly because its porn. Now the super awesome animation that I'm proud of finishing after 5 days+ of work has less than 30 views xD

And it's sad because people who don't NORMALLY post porn, when they do, they get 25436547658765 watchers in less than 0.5 seconds (which is typically what ANY artist could wish for just by posting a serious picture), and the art on it could even be complete and utter crap. To be blunt. heh
I really don't get it. I mean, I know FA is labeled a porn site, but don't people have any sense that what they're looking at might be just a tad... badly drawn (giving notice to the many porn pictures that have VERY awkward anatomy and positions that are nearly impossible)? Anyway, going by official statistics on the site, most of the members here DON'T post porn. So... does that mean that those members that make up practically the whole site, go unnoticed because they aren't as sexually driven?

yeah over here, most of times, a crap porn pic gets more attention then a nicely done clean work. also there is the commissions thing. I think like 75% of the commissions are porn things. most of time are people who can't draw their own stuff. and looks like those people are the ones with more money to use. so people over here have to draw porn to sell their work. >.>
Ye it is kinda true in some cases, but imo it comes down to how skillfull and artist is that makes people watch them. If someone with exceptional skills posts things that aren't porn then that person would still get a lot of fans just because people like looking at skilled work that have resulted from thousands of hours of hard work to get to where they are. It's not for nothing the greatest names in art are the greatest. (But on FA porn is a way to get watchers fast lols)

yeah at some point yes. but sadly that makes the artist kinda not motivated to post some 'normal' art. like when she/he posts porn, she/he gets a hundred of comments, critiques and intensive words, also a lot of +favs and views. then they try to post some non-porn, and the result is 20% only of the comments/+favs/views. the same for the commissions. most of commissions over here are porn. because of that I know people over here that forgot how to draw clothes already '>w>
nudism is fine for art, the artist can practice the anatomy. and some 'naughty' scenes are interesting if you think about the interaction with two characters in the same drawing. it's not that easy so I guess it may help you someway. but people over here [not them all of course] are almost like forcing you to draw only porn with their attitudes. If someone want to get serious about art then they should ignore the people who only want porn and listen to themselves what they want to draw and not what other people want. Self-satisfaction is more precious then watches, favs and views. And since the attitude on FA is very porn-directed then one could actually find another place to also post normal stuff ya know.
well it's not that porn in the sonic fan base is bad I'm actually a bit of a fan of it however at the same time I can't really supported because I just think it's gotten out of hand of how much pornography is made if you want the full story you could look at my rant on deviant art on my journal but short version

I guess you're right in some sense there is a difference between the two but what I'm trying to say is that rather than being soft on hard core it's still sexual and over all the influences that fan base or at least that's what I led to believe not just in sexual card but an average work as well mainly on how people to sign their fan characters I mean it seems like a requirement for every female that have the same body form as rouge the bat or out most of their outfits do a good job at showing off those ... Features I just think that there's so much sexual influence that exists influences the entire fan base to seriously though sexual which that's why I don't approve I rather prefer to sexual line of things to stay underground instead of being a huge part of the van base which I know some people may disagree that it is but from what I saying it's very true to put it simply the fan base needs to learn more self control but I can also understand why people like those sort of things like I said I'm a fan of sonic hentai myself so I can completely say it deserves to be obliterated like most people suggest

well anyway something I don't like as well about that and about all the fanbases is the modification of the personality/body of one character. like if the character we know would never do that, don't make him/her do that. if the character isn't like that, don't draw her/him like that. but well I mean I just think it's not fun. like make a character fall in love for a character he/she dislikes. if you want to make that, you need to do first a very well done explanation.
you do guide point I've noticed that as well no actual examples of love more like hate to sound rude but more like fuck Buddy after fuck Buddy and it's far too often that kind of stuff is posted no actual storyline or explaining billing up to the sexual scene it slide someone's watching a romantic movie and skips all the way to the one sex scene this is why I'm talking about when it comes to actual influencing and the fans based there's too much sex that that it over clouds everything else not to mention like I may have already sonic is originally supposed to be a kid thing can we have enough respect and responsibility as a fan base to just keep our naughty stuff private and just in pornographic websites and does every fan character needs to look like rouge the bat or just a masculine Guy with a sonic care workers head photo shopped on their sorry I like to read a lot and believe me this particular subject has been on my mind for a while ^^'
Though sometimes it just gets boring after awhile. It's nice to see other artists try their hand at some good nudity art besides just hardcore porn all of the damn time. I think I like the good nudity art better versus the porn (though sometimes I confuse the two), furry porn, slash, ect. I'll comment and add some stuff to my faves, but I try to take in more of what I like and use the rest as 'practice art canon'. I'm still somewhat prudish when i comes to drawing nude art. I like seeing nude art, but I don't see myself in much nude art.
It's something I struggle with a lot. In fact, I've had a few artists turn me away for wanting something clean, silly, and fun. It made me really sad along with the fact some have... been passive aggressive about me wanting only clean art.

Being that my fursona is physically based off me, down to markings and body shape, it would be far too personal for me to be engaging in explicit activities that I feel are more personal and private for me. So all the fun, bright, and silly things for me. Maybe something a little contemplative. :)
Also, I was wondering if you made that icon and if you did, would you be open to a commission for one similar to yours with a different phrase? Also, pricing? :3

Well without resorting to porn you will get attention from people if you make fanart of something popular or do something really surprising and out of the ordinary... (Don't take this as an offense but I consider myself and most people to be ordinary... And even though a dressing game is an impressive feat, if it only features your original characters it will not get much attention I think..). Without resorting to porn, I managed to get a certain level of attention doing Banjo-Kazooie fanarts, it really got the attention from other fans... However my original works were never really noticed.
