HOME - Ever since a young age. No-one in my family really gave a sh!t about my art, My mom constantly scorned me for drawing my kaiju and being against Transformers she super-hated me drawing them (God, I'd probably be kicked out the house if any of my family knew of my Slash pictures )
SCHOOL - My Art lesson is very tight and gives little artistic license/freedom and you're frowned upon for doing something different from the set requirements.
FRIENDS - My RL buddies, don't really give a damn about my drawings a lot of the time (with My School bud Deiru Being the exception and is 100% interested usually)
INTERNET - After all that you can imagine how sh!t it feels to come home and on the whole of the millions of people on DA its rare I often get a actual comment sometimes.

No one is good at everything I'd say try to slow it down a little more (but then again i have a habit of finishing pictures in a oddly quick speed) but still it'd help.

Being a writer that has had stories up for say; 14 years or so I treat every scrap of feedback like the precious jewel that it is. You simply cannot expect the Internet to care, really. When someone does care: enjoy. You have indeed moved someone.
Misunderstood by family? get used to it. That is not going to change. My mother still has no real idea about my artistic life. If I can't make money at it why do I bother? My Father cares even less. I don't even bring my hobbies up at family gatherings.
Why do I bother? Because if fills a deep need in me. I gain great satisfaction from simply having created something that did not exist before. Anything beyond that is a bonus.
